PR-N45 — Natural Ground, Coarse

Reference specifications for technical comparison. Review final specifications against the grade data sheet, batch certificate of analysis and application requirements.

Specification source: PlaxRaw grade specification — built from published industry sources: LKAB Minerals (fineness/particle-size definitions), Karanwal Lime Chem (typical GCC composition range), IMA Europe. Not yet confirmed against one supplier's certified TDS — see disclosure above. (2026-08-23)

PR-N45 is PlaxRaw’s coarse natural ground calcium carbonate (GCC) grade — a mean particle size (D50) around 45 microns, at the coarse end of the standard GCC range.

Coarser GCC is the economy end of the filler range: lower cost per tonne for the same CaCO₃ content, at the expense of the surface finish and gloss that finer grades give. It’s the usual choice where filler loading and cost matter more than cosmetic finish — construction compounds, lower-spec masterbatch, and general-purpose fillers where the surface isn’t the selling point.

What this page is, honestly: the values above are typical, published ranges for coarse ground calcium carbonate drawn from industry references (cited below), not a certificate of analysis from one named supplier. Treat them as a starting specification to confirm against the actual shipment’s TDS before use in a formulation-critical application.
